Sleep Dentistry for the scared patient and those that wish to be very comfortable during dental treatment

Richard Gagne, DDS

Our office provides Intravenous (sleep) Sedation for the highly scared patient and those patients that want to be very comfortable during dental treatment. Yes, you can get full-service dentistry comfortably. You are in the right place! Dr. Richard Gagne is one of less than 1% of general dentists in California who have the special permit required to perform this advanced sedative technique. He performs the dentistry and the sedation himself. Sleep dentistry makes it possible for you to get the dentistry done now before there is more damage to your teeth and your health. A recent article in the Journal of the American Dental Association stated that over 23 million people delay dental care due to fear. They could not find a dentist that could provide them with sedation for dental services. Don't be one of them. Call us today!

Our practice

Since 1991, our office has provided full-service dentistry to residents of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties in Southern California. More than 70% of our patients come to us because of very bad dental experiences just like you. Many patients are referred by other dentists for our specialized sedation care. However, we also have many patients that don't have fear, but desire to be treated with the utmost in comfort. Patients with severe gagging responses are also treated successfully, because IV (sleep) Sedation stops all gagging during treatment.

Sedation dentistry

Our office is dedicated to providing our patients with maximum comfort no matter what the situation or treatment needed. Not all patients require Intravenous Sedation. We use a full compliment of sedative techniques that also include oral (pill) sedation, nitrous oxide (gas), and intramuscular injection. For shorter, less complicated procedures, these sedative methods provide our patients with the comfort that they have not experienced in other dental offices. See our brochure on our various sedative methods (in PDF format).

General dentistry

What makes our office unique is that we do full-service dentistry with Intravenous Sedation. Patients that have delayed care tend to have multiple problems. They need treatment that encompasses many specialty areas of dentistry, such as oral surgery, periodontics, and endodontics. Some dental specialists do provide sleep dentistry, but only to provide care in their particular specialty area. This means, for these patients, many sedation sessions with various specialists. We can provide complete treatment in one multiple hour session in our office. It's dentistry done very comfortably and with a lot of tender loving care. Yes, sleep dentistry and dental sedation are the techniques that can make your comfortable dental care possible. Call us today.
